MISSION STATEMENT

Welcome to the official Texas Psychobilly website, your source for all things psycho in the lone star state. Texas Psychobilly, the company, was formed by three individuals: Dallas tattoo artist Kelly Barr (aka Johnny Voodoo), Austin's Graverockers Union Wreckords owner Destin Pledger, and San Antonio's HairBall8 Records owner Ryan Davis.

The original use of the name "Texas Psychobilly" came from artwork created by Kelly and then screened onto T-shirts by Destin. These T-shirts received a frenzied response and sold out immediately at various psychobilly shows throughout Texas. When a small but enthusiastic demand for these TX PSY T-shirts arose on a national and international level, Ryan came in and proposed the idea of establishing Texas Psychobilly as a company that not only offered the T-shirts and other psychobilly-affiliated merchandise for sale online, but also as an entity that furthers the cause of psychobilly music in Texas altogether (and the rest of the world for that matter).

Once the Texas Psychobilly Company came into existence, Paige Lester from HairBall8 Records came on board to create and maintain the Texas Psychobilly website that you are now visiting. In addition to TexasPsychobilly.com containing a webstore where music fans may shop for psychobilly merchandise, the site will also devote pages to psychobilly news, shows/tours, band interviews, music reviews, photos/artwork, and links to other cool psychobilly related sites. Texas Psychobilly will also be organizing and promoting various psychobilly live music events throughout Texas.

One thing that should remain clear regarding TexasPsychobilly.com: the site is about active participation on an international level. Although there is an emphasis on the Texas Psychobilly music scene within the website, that does not mean we won't be featuring content that covers the diverse and unique world movement of psychobilly. Involvement and participation from people outside the state of Texas is highly encouraged. It's not your fault if you aren't lucky enough to live here! No matter where you are from, if you have ideas, questions, or would like to contribute something (news, interviews, music reviews, artwork, photos etc.) to TexasPsychobilly.com, please contact us. We would love to hear from you.
